The Smart Village Forum România 2026 — the 6th edition of Romania’s flagship national event dedicated to the transformation of intelligent, sustainable, and prosperous communities — took place from 15 to 20 June 2026 at Hotel Poseidon, Jupiter, Constanța, organised by the Asociația Satelor Inteligente din România. The forum brought together representatives of public administration, academia, the private sector, European organisations, and development consultants to explore three central themes for local communities: finalising PNRR projects, accessing new financing instruments, and leveraging a decade of accumulated experience in smart village and smart city development.
BENE Cercetare attended the event — engaging with mayors, county council presidents, local authority representatives, funding consultants, and innovation partners from across Romania in a setting uniquely oriented toward practical, community-level digital transformation.
The forum’s central focus on digitisation, integrated financing platforms, the transition from fragmented individual initiatives to connected economic ecosystems, and the role of public-private collaboration in rural development resonates directly with the work we pursue through WeH 2.0 — our European Digital Innovation Hub supporting SMEs and public organisations in the South Muntenia region in their digital transformation journey. Smart Village Forum 2026 was, in many ways, precisely the community this project was built to serve.
