Who says research and innovation only belong at conferences? On 4–6 September 2026, BENE Cercetare brought our work somewhere completely different — AsiaFest 2026, the largest festival of Asian cultures in Romania, held at Arena Națională, Bucharest. Now in its 13th year, AsiaFest gathers 18 cultures, 200+ artists, and 150+ exhibitors for three days of music, dance, gastronomy, workshops, and discovery.
For us, a festival like this is a rare and wonderful opportunity: a chance to talk about European research with people who might never set foot in a project meeting — families, students, creatives, and the simply curious. And our portfolio has something for every one of those conversations.
We shared the digital-transformation story of WeH 2.0 and Wallachia eHUB; the smart-city and climate-neutral vision behind OPTIX, NetZeroCities and PROMISE; the environmental-monitoring work of MisAIB, ROMEO and SeaGuard; the advanced-materials and energy research of NANOEMCA, AEROMATICS and ENHANCE Europe; the semiconductor ambitions of PNTS; and the digital-culture and data-sharing platforms of Museion, SHIELD and SMARDY.
Three colourful, joyful days — and a reminder that the best dissemination often happens where you least expect it. Thank you, AsiaFest!
